I reassembled a broken plate of glass with an adhesive. Then, I traced these shattered glass lines with pure gold powder. 

I was inspired by ‘Kintsugi’, a traditional Japanese technique for fixing ceramics (it also traces the cracks with pure gold powder), which shows an ‘Acceptance philosophy’ that embraces accidents and believes that ceramics become more beautiful with the cracks they have.

In addition, as a calligrapher, I was interested in these marks that cracks create, which I think are ‘pure lines’ because there are unintentional lines  that humans cannot make. For me, they are ‘natural calligraphy’.
